What We Collect
- Account data: email address, password hash, registration acceptance record, and session token hash.
- Saved Stories data: Reddit thread URLs and the display metadata you choose to save.
- Impact Digest preference and delivery records: your opt-in frequency, consent timestamp, unsubscribe status, and limited delivery logs when you request emailed digests.
- Service protection data: short-lived network identifier/request usage records used for rate limiting and security.
- Source content: public Reddit titles, post text, and selected comments needed to prepare a requested summary.
Why We Use It
- Account and saved-story syncing: to provide the account service you request.
- Security, abuse prevention, and quota control: our legitimate interests in keeping the service reliable.
- Thread summarisation and optional narration: to fulfil your request when you select a public thread.
- Optional Impact Digest email: only with your consent, to send daily or weekly cached story highlights you selected to receive.
Threadalogue uses AI to generate summaries. It does not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about account holders.
Processors and External Sources
The service retrieves public content from Reddit. Selected source content may be processed by Google Gemini for summaries and, when audio is enabled, ElevenLabs for narration. If you enable the Impact Digest, your email address and digest content are sent to Resend for email delivery. The application is hosted on Render. Before public launch, the operator should verify processor agreements and any international transfer safeguards required for the chosen configuration.
Retention
- Accounts and synced saved stories remain until you remove stories or delete your account.
- Account sessions expire after 30 days unless configured otherwise.
- Quota and security usage records are retained for up to 24 hours during normal cleanup.
- Generated audio is scheduled for removal after 24 hours.
- Guest saves and preferences are stored in your browser until you remove them or clear browser storage.
- Impact Digest delivery records are retained for operational duplicate prevention and delivery auditing while the digest service is active.
Your Rights
You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, or portability where applicable. Signed-in users can export their account data and delete their account from the account controls. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
You can turn off the optional Impact Digest in account controls or use the unsubscribe link included in each digest email.
Browser Storage and Cookies
Threadalogue uses browser storage for guest saved stories and preferences. When you sign in, it sets an essential session cookie to keep your account authenticated. No advertising or analytics cookies are described by this application build.
